"The most important thing I learned as a fighter and in my fitness journey, is to be resilient. We tend to be obsessed with perfectionism. The reality is that we can rarely get something perfect on the first try. You need to sharpen your skills, hone yourself. Show up every day and don't be discouraged."

"Mental resilience is an integral part of not only fighting sports or fitness in general, but also for your life as a whole. Anybody can get fit. It's easy with the correct guidance and coaching. But to be able to push through and go past your obstacles, push through your limits and try to get yourself to the next level in your life, takes a lot of mental commitment and effort. I think the mental side is actually a lot harder than the physical side."

"As you do things that you are uncomfortable with, on and on and on again, you build the ability to be centered. You build the ability to have a clear mind. You build the ability to have some emotional control, some restraint on how you act on the things you do. So then when you come around obstacles in training or in life in general, you learn how to address them in the best way possible."
