Brice here, AYR’s menswear designer. We just got in some new stuff that I'm stoked about. With the warmer weather creeping in like the lamb it supposedly is, I wanted to share a little more info on a few pieces that I'll be wearing on the regular. Especially when the weather goes full-on dog-days-of-summer-breath.
The Numero Uno pants in Wet Cement: As a reluctant shorts-wearer, take my advice and pick these up. Summer-ready weight Japanese cotton Cordura® ripstop. Elastic waist tabs, drawcord hems. Your sweaty summer-self will thank me.
The Alpha shirt in Vintage Navy: The world needs more snap shirts. Tearing open a snap shirt IS ALWAYS satisfying. Prove me wrong. Tell me you don’t miss the thrill of early aughts tearaway athletic pants. The color, meanwhile, is a perfectly washed-out navy. Built to be thrown on, tossed in a bag, dragged to the beach and ultimately stolen by your mainstay companion who's always cold, yet never prepared to be.
The Captain shirt in Chambray: You know this fabric well. If you don't, allow me to introduce you to Japanese Chambray. It breathes like AC, making it ideal for summer. Somehow, it truly looks good with everything. And as with so many of your most worn-items, the more beat up this chambray gets, the better it becomes. The silhouette is based on a 1950s “summer service” military shirt I found at the Clignancourt flea market in Paris: weekend collar, straight hem, inverted back pleat. Easy yet sharp, even in the heat.
Hope you like. Let me know your thoughts. We’re all ears on in the IG dms, @ayr , and we love reading your reviews.
