Earlier this month, we asked Keapers to share a photo that captures the mood of their favorite Keap scent. As always, our community did not disappoint. The submissions made us smile, giggle, made us go “aw” and left us in awe. Here they are!
Some folks shared images of beautiful landscapes, some of their home, and some got really original.
Our jury had a challenging time narrowing submissions down to our semi-finalists. Some folks were very eager and shared multiple submissions (beyond the one-per-person limit)! While we need to abide by the terms we set, we also appreciated the enthusiasm and included some of those extras below this email.
And for those of you who shared a submission and didn’t make it to the finals, we appreciate you! Your photo will make it onto the site in the coming weeks, and we’ll be in touch shortly about your $10 credit.
But for now, we need everyone’s help to pick one finalist per scent!
Finalists will be eligible for a candle in their favorite scent, a donation to their nonprofit of choice, and most importantly the bragging rights that go with being the official 2024 Mooderologist for their favorite Keap scent. 😆
Voting closes on Sunday, March 31 at 11.59pm EST. Let your voice be heard!
Moodily yours, — Harry from Keap, Steward-Owner

In other news:
- Green Market is our March Seasonal Scent: Green Market is our harbinger of the verdurous season. As Vinepair aptly puts it, “Lighting it in the kitchen while drinking a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and cooking dinner could be the perfect use case, just in time for spring.” Make sure you are signed up for the seasonal subscription to receive this scent in March.
- Our Spring Special Release is almost over! We have run out of roughly half of our scents, but still have a few last units of some other favorites, including Wild Figs. We have two other rarities on the site available until March 25. The first is a Lavender + Petals 6-pack, minimally packaged and advantageously priced for lavender lovers. The second is a set of bulk discounts, which apply to any of the above as well as your trusty Wood Cabin.
- Current shipping delays: This week had a Murphy’s Law theme. I won’t bore you with all the details, but lowlights include our trusty candle pouring machine going out and our team getting hit with a mini COVID epidemic. Long story short, we have fallen a little behind on shipping, and we expect to be caught toward the middle of next week. We appreciate your patience and apologize for the potential delay. If your order is urgent, please let us know and we’ll do our best to meet your needs!
- A 4/20 Chelsea pop-up: Mark your calendars for April 20-21 if you live in Downtown Manhattan. We’ll be popping up in Chelsea. More info to come!
- Land trusts gaining ground: If you’ve been here a while, you have likely heard us espouse the many virtues of community land trusts. I was moved by the recent grassroots response by residents who suffered the double whammy of the devastating Lahaina wild fires, followed by aggressive displacement tactics by “disaster capitalists”. That community’s efforts to protect itself through a land trust highlights some hopeful avenues for communities across America. On a related topic, we may see indigenous tribes take a greater role in restoring lands and ecosystems: “healing the land while healing the relationships among all the people who inhabit this magnificent forest”.

“Dear Keap,
In short, my experience with my first order led me to be a subscriber.
Longer, I love the experience created by your business practices and your amazing candles. The experience of breathing in and visualizing a candle's description creates anticipation which exquisitely manifests in the reality of my home.
I subscribed because this is a path of joy for me and a simple practice of self-care. Something just for me.
Plus, the coconut wax creates an experience superior to a standard candle and even to a soy candle.
The attention to detail with every part of what a candle order brings is amazing. Reminds me so much of how gifts are created in Japan - a place I have spent much time.
I also like the seasonal nature of candle availability and can already feel my inner anticipation for Canyons' return.
May the new year be filled with love and adventure for you and yours. My year will be filled with wonder and joy because of the efforts from everyone at Keap Candles. Thank you!
In Joy!”
